ON THE MOVE TO MIDTOWN

CLIENT

BACKGROUND

In 2018, as a crowning achievement to its decade-long reinvention, NCR was closing their six suburban offices and migrating 2600 employees to a new Global Headquarters (GHQ) campus in midtown Atlanta.

NCR approached Experience Willow to help design and execute a transition experience that would introduce employees to both their new urban, workplace neighborhood and the state-of-the-art office towers where they'd soon be working.

CHALLENGES

CULTURE SHOCK: There was a vast difference between the easy-going, sprawling, tree-filled suburb locations and the bustling, high-density, concrete jungle of midtown. Employees needed to be excited about and fully embrace the latter for a successful transition.

NEW WAYS OF WORKING: The cutting-edge technology in the new, high-rise towers marked an entirely different way of working that employees could easily become frustrated about.

SOLUTION

Experience Willow worked closely with NCR to design and produce two distinct events to meet their needs:

 

ALL ROADS LEAD TO MIDTOWN

Employee teams were invited to experience new transit routes and explore 31 midtown points-of-interest by competing in a customized, team building scavenger hunt.

YOUR GHQ CAMPUS DAY 1

An immersive, hands-on orientation that helped employees learn how to navigate the environment; operate flexible workstations and new technologies; and access campus amenities.

RESULTS

On the Move to Midtown exceeded all goals and expectations and inspired future campus events and VIP tour programs:

  • 99% of participants agreed it offered a thorough overview

  • 4.75/5 Stars: "This event improved teamwork." 

  • $50K in in-kind donations from area merchants

The experience also won national and global awards, including:
